Unzip, move Tradewinds.app to your Applications folder, then open it. Developer ID signed, Apple notarized, and self-contained.
Connect once
Choose Set Up Birch…. Tradewinds creates a private device key that stays on your Mac and copies its public key. Send the public key to O+K for one-time alpha approval, then choose a domain and connect.
Endpoint access is separate from the download. The package never contains someone else’s private key.
Stay current
Updates use the signed Fledge alpha channel. Installation waits until you disconnect the route. A failed candidate can roll back to the prior app. Keep Tradewinds in Applications so its updater can replace the bundle.
Know the alpha boundary
This version configures the Wi-Fi service for applications that honor system proxy settings. It is not a full-device VPN or a kill switch: selected traffic can go direct if the endpoint is unavailable. Ethernet, per-app routing, and all-traffic modes are not qualified in this alpha.
